In the face of religious institutions which are losing much of their relevance for a growing number of people, many are turning away from traditional religious institutions, interpretations, and practices; others are seeking new paradigms to breath new life into old theological interpretations; others have turned to various forms of fundamentalism to shore up their fears; still others have given up on finding meaning in the modern religious world and have turned to rationalism, materialism, and other "isms" to fill their inner void.
Addressing the current religious dilemma, and the divisions which threaten us and our world, Dr. Wright will weave together the insights of of the ancient Celts and the modern science of Jungian Psychology as two possible sources for sustenance for the modern soul. Attention will be given to the emerging images from the deep unconscious which may offer us a way through the conflicts and dangers we face, individually and collectively.
Jerry Wright, D.Min., is trained as a Jungian Analyst, Pastoral Counselor, and Licensed Professional Counselor. He received his analytical training from the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts. He is particularly interested in the convergence of analytical psychology and theology and how the two disciplines and their symbols inform the processes of analysis, spiritual development, and individuation.
